NCCU JAZZ DEPT & THE SALETT ART CENTER'S 5TH ANNUAL JAZZ COMPETITION

2 CATEGORIES INCLUDE:

HIGHSCHOOL - registration fee required. Early registration ends March 31st for a fee of 75.00. Late registration ends April 11th at midnight for a 85.00 fee.

Adult (18 and up) - registration fee required. Early registration ends March 31sth for a fee of 75.00. Late registration ends April 11th at midnight for a 85.00 fee.

Groups are allowed to perform for 15 minutes. Each group will be evaluated on melodic phrasing, swing feel, group cohesiveness, individual improvisation,etc.

​

Groups can be as large as 6 or small as 1. Each act will be judged by (4) judges and rated on a scale of 1-10 in the categories listed above. The group with the most amount of points win the competition.

IF YOUR GROUP WINS YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO PARTICIPATE THE FOLLOWING YEAR.
